SYMPTOMS
If you copy a range of cells containing an array formula and paste it to another range, Excel may crash, and you may receive the following error message:
If you click Details, you receive an error message similar to the following:
CAUSE
This problem occurs when the following conditions are true:
- You copy a range containing an array formula and paste it into another range.
-and-
- The target range for the paste operation contains a merged cell.
-and-
- The merged cell is not part of the first row or first column of the paste region.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, obtain Microsoft Office 2000 Service Release 1/1a (SR-1/SR-1a).
