Unable to open secondary calendar folder for another user in Outlook 2000

SYMPTOMS

When an Outlook 2000 user tries to open the secondary calendar of another user, for which the first user has Editor permissions, the following error message is displayed:

Unable to display the folder.


Microsoft Outlook 98 and Microsoft Outlook 97 users do not experience this problem.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain Microsoft Office 2000 Service Release 1/1a (SR-1/SR-1a).

To work around this problem, use one of the following methods:

  • Set the default permission role to "Reviewer" on the secondary calendar to allow the secondary calendar to function properly.
  • Make the user who wants to open the secondary calendar of another user a member of the Domain Administrators group.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1/SR-1a.
