SideWinder 3D Pro for Macintosh: "No Joystick Found" Error Message

SYMPTOMS

When you double-click the Microsoft SideWinder Game Device Editor icon on the Macintosh desktop, you may receive the following error message:

No Joystick Found.



CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the SideWinder 3D Pro extension is not enabled.



RESOLUTION

To enable the SideWinder 3D Pro extension:

  1. On the Apple menu, click Control Panels.
  2. Click Extensions Manager.
  3. Under Extensions, click to select the check box next to SideWinder 3D Pro Extension.
  4. On the Special menu, click Restart.
  5. On the desktop, double-click the SideWinder Game Device Editor icon.
  6. On the File menu, click Open.
  7. Click to select the game profile that you want to use.
