If the SQLServerAgent service that is used by Microsoft Access Workflow Designer is not running on the Access Workflow Designer server, you may experience one or more of the following conditions:

  • Offline publications cannot be created or are created slowly.
  • Offline publications cannot be re-created or are re-created slowly.
  • Solution deployment is slower.

The SQLSeverAgent service is used to create and re-create offline publications as well as deploy solutions. Without this service, these tasks cannot take place.

Ensure that the SQLServerAgent service is started before you deploy a solution, create an offline publication, or re-create an offline publication.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
