XCCC: Updates Not Sent After Changing Meeting Time to the Past

Article ID: 247465

Article Last Modified on 10/27/2006

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server
  • Microsoft Outlook 2000 Standard Edition

This article was previously published under Q247465

SYMPTOMS

When you use Microsoft Outlook to change the time of a scheduled conference to a point in the past, updates are not sent to the meeting participants. In fact, users can still join the conference during the originally scheduled time, and do not receive an error message or prompt that indicates that the meeting time was changed.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because Outlook does not notify Exchange 2000 of the change, and therefore, the Conference Management Service is unaware of the update.

RESOLUTION

Open the new past-due appointment item, and then manually send an update.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
