To back up and restore the zone information:
- Start Registry Editor (Regedit.exe).
- Go to the following location in the registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
NOTE: The above registry path is one key; it has been wrapped for readability.Select the object called Zones, and then from the Registry menu, click Save Key.
- To save the specific security settings in the Security Zones, select the key named ZoneMap, and from the Registry menu, click Save Key.
- To merge the information back to the computer, either double-click the file that was saved from a previous registry save, or import the information using Registry Editor.
