SYMPTOMS

When you use a Ricoh CardBus PCMCIA controller in a Sony 505GX portable computer running Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional, the sound that comes through the speakers is distorted.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur when you use a Ricoh RL5C475 CardBus PCMCIA controller on a computer with an ESS1879 Plug and Play Audiodrive audio controller.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional.
