Article ID: 247010

Article Last Modified on 11/1/2006

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Windows 2000 Server
  • Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional Edition

This article was previously published under Q247010

SYMPTOMS

When you install a FAST Multimedia AV Master peripheral component interconnect (PCI) multimedia adapter, the system does not completely install the drivers. This occurs on a computer running either Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional or Microsoft Windows 2000 Server.

Windows 2000 detects the device and prompts for the location of the drivers. When you use the .inf file to install the drivers, Windows 2000 cannot locate the device. Also, even when you cancel the setup, programs may try to use the device. When this happens, you receive an error message and the computer stops responding (hangs).

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional and Microsoft Windows 2000 Server.
