Unattended Installation of Windows 2000 Setup Stops When Winnt Folder Detected

SYMPTOMS

During an unattended installation of Microsoft Windows 2000.3 Professional, the following message appears:

The folder \winnt exists and may contain a Windows Installation. If you continue the existing Windows installation will be overwritten. To use this folder and delete the existing Windows Installation press L. To select another folder press ...

This request appears in spite of your specifying 'Unattendmode = FullUnattended' in the unattended text file. When you press L, Setup continues and completes.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs when your computer has an existing Winnt folder.

RESOLUTION

This behavior is by design.
