SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft PowerPoint 97, if you change the PowerPoint template, you may receive the following message.

Organizational Chart

Do you want to save changes to OrgChart?

If you click Yes to this question, you are prompted to save the OrgChart as a separate file. If you click No, the template is applied normally.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs when you are using PowerPoint 97 on a Compaq Desktop EP computer running Microsoft Windows 95. This behavior does not occur using other combinations of hardware and software.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, click No when prompted to save the OrgChart. You can then proceed normally.

The only way to permanently resolve this issue is to update your operating system to Windows 98. This issue has been tested and does not occur when using the Compaq Desktop EP and Windows 98.

STATUS

This problem occurs when you use Microsoft PowerPoint 97 and Windows 95. This problem is only known to occur when using the Compaq Desktop EP computer.
