Article ID: 246570

Article Last Modified on 1/25/2007

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft FrontPage 2002 Standard Edition

This article was previously published under Q246570

SYMPTOMS

When you update a database using a form, the following error message may appear when you submit the form:

Database Results Error Description: [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]
Data type mismatch in criteria expression.
Number: -2147217913 (0x80040E07)
Source: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers

CAUSE

The data type for one of the fields in the database is set to date/time, and FrontPage returns a numeric value for the date.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, change the data type for the database field to text.

Also, the form will be submitted without errors if you submit the form field using date format. An example of date format is ##/##/####, using forward slashes (/) to separate the numbers.
