SUMMARY

This article describes the relevant Windows 2000 counters that you can use to help monitor DSAccess behavior.

MORE INFORMATION

DSAccess has its own set of Performance Monitor (System Monitor) counters to help monitor DSAccess' behavior. In addition to the specific DSAccess counters, there are other counters that you can use in conjunction with the DSAccess counters to better understand the performance of this component.

The counters that are described in the following table can be found under the Windows NT Directory Service (NTDS) performance object in Performance Monitor.

Counter Significance
LDAP Searches/Sec The rate at which LDAP clients perform search operations.
DS Directory Searches/sec Number of directory searches per second.
DS Directory Reads/sec Number of directory reads per second.
DS Directory Writes/sec Number of directory writes per second.
DS Threads in Use DS Threads in Use is the current number of threads in use by the directory service (this number is different from the number of threads in the directory service process). Threads in Use is the number of threads currently servicing client API calls and can be used to indicate whether additional processors could be of benefit.
LDAP Client Sessions Number of connected LDAP client sessions.
