Viewing Non-Plug and Play Legacy Device Drivers

  1. Right-click My Computer, and then click Manage.
  2. Click Device Manager.
  3. On the View menu, click Show Hidden Devices.
  4. Double-click the Non-Plug and Play Drivers branch to expand it. This displays all the legacy drivers installed in Windows 2000.
  5. To view the current status and startup type for a driver, right-click the device, click Properties, and then click the Driver tab.

NOTE: You must be logged on as the Administrator or with an account that has administrator privileges to start or stop a device or modify its startup type. Using the steps listed above, you can start and stop non-Plug and Play device drivers or set the startup type.
