Summary:

To calculate with the SUM function after sorting columns with the Sort command in a Microsoft Multiplan spreadsheet, make sure that you include the row reference for one row above and one row below the area to be sorted by the SUM function. The function will compute the sum correctly as long as the cells above and below the area are blank or contain alphabetic text.
