SYMPTOMS
If you create a COM+ application on an English version of Microsoft Windows 2000 and Microsoft Windows XP, create a new Role, and then add "Everyone" as a user to this role, when you export this application to a computer with the German version of Windows 2000 and Windows XP, you see "Everyone" as the user instead of the local version of "Everyone" on the client computer.
The same problem occurs with any of the default Microsoft Windows NT User Groups and for any other language versions of Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
CAUSE
When you create a Role in a COM+ application and add any of the default Windows NT User Groups (for example, "Everyone") to it and export this application to a Windows 2000 computer with a different language version, COM+ doesn't associate the localized string with the Security Identifier (SID) value for that Windows NT User Group (for example, "Everyone").
As a result, the application "thinks" that each localized version of the Windows NT User Group (for example, "Everyone") is a different group of users.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
