FIX: Security Information Not Persistent for the Connection Object in a DTS Package

SYMPTOMS

After creating a Data Transformation Services (DTS) Package, the security credentials are not persistent for a connection object in the DTS package.

WORKAROUND

Edit the connection object and click the Advanced button. Next, change the value of the Persist Security Info to 1. This ensures that the security credentials are saved or persistent.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SQL Server 7.0. This problem has been corrected in U.S. Service Pack 2 for Microsoft SQL Server 7.0. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
