    • Apple Mac OS 9.0

This article was previously published under Q244110

When you double-click an item on a chart, or you click Format Selection on the Format menu, some of the Format Selection dialog box may not be displayed properly. Some of the dialog box appears to be blank, and the tabs are not displayed.

NOTE: Selection represents the item that was selected when you click the Format menu.

This problem may occur if you are running Mac OS 9.

Method 1: Change to 256 Colors

To work around the problem, change your color depth to 256 colors:

  1. On the Apple menu, point to Control Panels and then click Monitors.
  2. In the Color Depth list, click 256.
  3. Close the Multiple Scan Display window.

Method 2: Use Your Keyboard to Force the Dialog Box to Update

To work around this problem, press CONTROL+PAGE UP several times to cycle through all of the tabs in the dialog box.

NOTE: This workaround does not work in dialog boxes that do not contain multiple tabs, such as the Format Floor dialog box.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
