CAUSE

This problem may occur if Apple QuickTime for Windows is installed on the computer.

The QIF file name extension can be associated with both Money and QuickTime for Windows. When you try to import a QIF file, QuickTime may convert the file into a format that Money cannot recognize.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, delete or rename the file that Money could not import, and then download or export a new copy of a QIF file. After you download or export a new copy of a QIF file, reassociate the QIF file name extension with Money. To do this, use one of the following methods.

Method 1

To open QIF files directly into Money, follow these steps:

  1. On the File menu, click Import, and then click Download Statement.
  2. Select the files that you want, and then click Import.
  3. Select the Money account that you want to receive the imported data, and then follow the instructions that appear on the screen.
