SYMPTOMS
Some labels appear to the left of the vertical (x) axis and outside the plot area of a Microsoft Excel bar chart. This symptom may occur on the screen or when you print your chart.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs when the following conditions are true:
- You create a standard clustered bar chart (the default bar chart) or a custom outdoors bar chart.
-and-
- The values in your data series have a large variance, that is, the series contains both small and large values.
-and-
- You choose to display data labels on your chart.
-and-
- You choose not to display the value (y) axis.
- You choose not to display the value (y) axis.
-or-
- You resize your chart after creating it.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, obtain Microsoft Office 2000 Service Release 1/1a (SR-1/SR-1a).
