SYMPTOMS

This article applies to Microsoft Chat Server. A small potential memory leak was discovered in the chat server. This occurs when the ChatService object of Microsoft Chat Server is created.

CAUSE

The ChatService object is not freeing allocated memory properly when it is created.

RESOLUTION

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Exchange Server 5.5 Service Pack 4.
