SYMPTOMS

When you run Microsoft Proxy Server 2.0 on a computer that has more than 1 gigabyte (GB) of Random Access Memory (RAM), you may receive an access violation error message or an error message from Dr. Watson.

CAUSE

This issue can occur because the Web Proxy service allocates virtual memory based on the amount of physical memory in the computer. When you have more than 1 GB of physical RAM, the Web Proxy service allocates too much virtual RAM.
