SYMPTOMS
When you receive a message from an Exchange Server computer using the Internet Message Access Protocol, Version 4rev1 (IMAP4) Internet Protocol, the message text may wrap after 72 characters. This problem occurs when Message Encoding is set to Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (MIME) and the Provide Message Body as Plain Text option is enabled.
RESOLUTION

WORKAROUND
Exchange Server 5.5
To change the message text word-wrap in Exchange Server 5.5, a new registry key is added with this fix.
To resolve this problem, apply either the latest Exchange Server 5.5 service pack or the fix that is described in the "Resolution" section, and then follow these steps.
Warning Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method. These problems might require that you reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that these problems can be solved. Modify the registry at your own risk.
- Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
- Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\ParametersSystem
- On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
- Type IMAP4 Line Wrap Size as the entry name, and then press ENTER.
Note The registry entry is case-sensitive. - Double-click the IMAP4 Line Wrap Size entry.
- In the Value data box, type the maximum line length in either decimal or hexadecimal, and then click OK.
- Quit Registry Editor.
- For this change to take effect, you must stop and restart the information store.
Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server and Microsoft Exchange Server 2003
To change the message text word-wrap in an Exchange 2000 or Exchange 2003 environment, you must create a new registry subkey.
To resolve this problem, follow these steps.

- In the Value data box, type a value that is greater than 72, and then click OK.
- Quit Registry Editor.
- For this change to take effect, you must stop and restart the information store.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. This problem was first corrected in Exchange Server 5.5 Service Pack 4.
