Moderate: Requires basic macro, coding, and interoperability skills.

SYMPTOMS

After you complete the installation of Microsoft Office Developer (MOD), you cannot find a shortcut to start the Package and Deployment Wizard.

CAUSE

In earlier versions, you could open the Package and Deployment Wizard from the Start menu. With the MOD, the Package and Deployment Wizard is an add-in that you start from the Visual Basic Editor.

RESOLUTION

To start the Package and Deployment Wizard, follow these steps:

  1. In the host application, press ALT+F11 to switch to the Visual Basic Editor.
  2. On the Add-Ins menu, click Package and Deployment Wizard.

If the Package and Deployment Wizard is not listed on the Add-Ins menu, follow these steps:

  1. On the Add-Ins menu, click Add-In Manager.
  2. In the Available Add-Ins list, click VBA Package and Deployment Wizard.
  3. Under Load Behavior, click Loaded/Unloaded.
  4. If you want the wizard to load each time that you start the Editor, click Load on Startup.
  5. Click OK.
  6. On the Add-Ins menu, click Package and Deployment Wizard.
