SUMMARY
When you use an Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) client to gain access to an Exchange 2000 Server computer, you may be able to rename and move the default folders. You may also be able to delete some of the default folders that are created by Microsoft Outlook.

The following are the default folders that you can rename or move by using some IMAP clients:
- Calendar
- Contacts
- Deleted Items
- Drafts
- Journal
- Notes
- Outbox
- Tasks
For example, a user can use the IMAP client to rename the Calendar folder to the My Appointments folder. A user can also move the Calendar folder to be a subfolder of the Inbox.
With some IMAP clients you may be able to delete the following Outlook folders:
- Calendar
- Contacts
- Journal
- Notes
- Tasks
If you accidentally delete one of the default Outlook folders and you need to re-create the folder, you can do so with the IMAP client, or by using Outlook. Certain startup switches enable you to easily re-create any missing default Outlook folders.
