SYMPTOMS
Exchange Server users might receive non-delivery reports (NDRs) with the diagnostic "content-syntax-error." In the event log, the event ID 210 "Content conversion error: Database server read failure" appears.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs if a recipient has more than 32 bytes in the Telephone Number field.
RESOLUTION

STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.5. This problem was first corrected in Exchange Server 5.5 Service Pack 3.
