SYMPTOMS
When you enable Advanced Power Management (APM) support on your Windows 2000-based Hewlett-Packard Vectra VL8 computer, the computer may immediately switch to a power-saving mode. When you try to resume your computer, it may stop responding (hang).
CAUSE
This issue can occur if the computer's Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) is not Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) compliant.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, contact Hewlett-Packard to inquire about a fix for this issue.
STATUS
This behavior is by design.
