SUMMARY

Microsoft PowerPoint 2000 does not support the Presentation Conferencing feature of PowerPoint 97 and PowerPoint 95. You cannot initiate a Presentation Conference with these previous versions, nor will PowerPoint 2000 allow you to be an audience member in a PowerPoint 97 or PowerPoint 95 Presentation Conference.

MORE INFORMATION

Microsoft PowerPoint 2000 does not incorporate the Presentation Conferencing feature from PowerPoint 97 and PowerPoint 95. Instead, it uses the newer Online Broadcast feature that eliminates the need for the audience members to have copy of PowerPoint. They just need to participate in the conference.

Online broadcasting makes use of web technology to bring a presentation to as many people as possible. You only need a web browser to see the presentation. It, also, allows the presenter to send an image and live voice narration along with the presentation, as well as recording the broadcast for later playback. See the Presentation Broadcast section of the Getting Results with Microsoft Office 2000 manual for more information.
