SYMPTOMS
When you have three or more languages turned on, Word may sometimes stop responding (hang) when you are checking the grammar of your Word document.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, obtain Microsoft Office 2000 Service Release 1/1a (SR-1/SR-1a).

To temporarily work around this problem, turn on only one or two languages. To change which languages are turned on, follow these steps:
- On the Windows Start menu, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Office Tools, and then click Microsoft Office Language Settings.
- On the Enabled Languages tab, clear the check boxes for the languages that you do not need.
NOTE: Make sure only one or two language check boxes are selected. - Click OK.
- Click Yes to the following message:
