To attach a Word document to an e-mail message, use the following steps:

  1. In Word, create, save, and close the document that you want to send with your e-mail message.
  2. In Microsoft Outlook, on the File menu, point to New, and then click Mail Message.
  3. Move the insertion point into the message area.
  4. On the Insert menu, click File.
  5. Click the Word document you want to send with the e-mail message, and then click Insert.

Your Word document will be attached to your e-mail message and will appear as a Word document icon.
