SYMPTOMS
If you create an auditorium channel on a Microsoft Exchange Chat Service computer, and then one or more users join the channel from a different server, the Chat Service on the second server may stop unexpectedly when you use the MODE +O command to give operator privileges to a user in the channel.
CAUSE
When operator privileges are given to a user in an auditorium channel, the Chat Service attempts to notify all users in the channel that the change has taken place. This problem occurs because the Chat Service does not properly notify remote users.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Exchange Server version 5.5. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
