NOTE: This service pack is for use only by holders of a current valid Microsoft SQL Server version 6.5 license. This service pack addresses some specific problems that were discovered in SQL Server version 6.5 after it began shipping. Microsoft recommends that all Microsoft SQL Server version 6.5 users apply this service pack.

SQL Server 6.5 Service Pack 5a is available for Intel (x86) and Alpha-based computers.

These files are also available on the Microsoft World Wide Web site on the Internet. To find them, perform the following steps:

  1. Go to http://support.microsoft.com/support.
  2. Click Drivers and Other Downloads. Note that you may need to click Show Long Menu before you click Downloads.
  3. Click BackOffice, click SQL Server, and then click the name of the file you want to download.

The files in the Microsoft Software Library are compressed, self- extracting executable files. After you download the file you need, simply run it to extract the files it contains.
