To obtain the Office 98 Update for Mac OS 8.5 from the Microsoft Web site, use a Web browser to go to the following Microsoft Web site:

To install the update, follow these steps:
- Quit all running programs.
- Open the folder that contains the Office 98 Update for Mac OS 8.5 program.
- Double-click Office 98 Update for Mac OS 8.5.
- Click Continue.
- Click Update.
- Click Quit when you receive a dialog box stating that the installation was successful.
NOTE: The Office 98 Update for Mac OS 8.5 creates a file named "MS Office 98 Updater Log" on the root level of the hard disk that contains Office 98. This file contains information about the installation of the update. To view the file, open it in any text editor such as SimpleText or Microsoft Word. You can safely delete the file.
