SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Project 98, when you copy and then paste a summary task or recurring task, you may receive either of the following errors:

You can:
NOTE: <n> is the number of the summary task that you copied and pasted.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs when you do the following:
- You first copy a summary task or recurring task.
- You then delete the summary task or the recurring task you just copied.
- You then paste the summary task or recurring task.
WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior, complete both the copy and paste operations before deleting the summary task. Alternately, cut the summary task and paste it at the new location.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft Project listed above.
This problem was corrected in Microsoft Project 98 for Windows, Service Release 1 (SR-1).
