SYMPTOMS
NetDDE will cause a Dr. Watson error when an application closes connections that are not yet established over the network. This only occurs when the connection is timing out at the same time that the client is closing the connection.
CAUSE
WM_DDE_TERMINATE is being processed twice by NetDDE, which causes it to crash.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows NT 4.0 or Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
