SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Project 98, in either the Task Usage or Resource Usage view, timescale values may display the wrong year, or the year might not be properly aligned with the column containing the timescaled data.
CAUSE
This behavior may occur when the fiscal year is set to begin a month other than January, and the timescale minor scale Units is set to None, Years, Half Years or Quarters.
Timescale columns may become misaligned after you change the timescale.
WORKAROUND
To display the timescale data in the correct fiscal year, set the minor scale Units to Months or a smaller unit. (On the Format menu, click Timescale.)
NOTE: To align the column label and the column data, change to another view, and then back to the usage view. This will redraw the timescale columns and their headings.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft Project listed above.
