SYMPTOMS
When you view your Contacts folder in Microsoft Outlook 98, using the Address Card view, each contact may appear to have your e-mail name.
CAUSE
The Address Card view is corrupted. This may be a result of upgrading over a beta version of Outlook 98.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue use the /cleanviews command line switch.
To run the /cleanviews command-line switch, follow these steps:
- Quit Outlook.
- Click the Start button, and click Run.
- In the Open box, type Outlook, a space, and the command-line switch.
Example: Outlook /cleanviews
- Click OK.
When you reopen Outlook, the Address Card view will display the correct e- mail name for each contact.
MORE INFORMATION
This problem only occurs when viewing your Contacts folder with the Address Card view. Other views show the correct e-mail address for each contact.
