SYMPTOMS
On the Internet Mail property page of an Internet Mail Service, you can select Message content information to send attachments using MIME or UUENCODE. When MIME is configured to send attachments, the Interoperability button to configure the message text word wrap will not work.
CAUSE
The message text word wrap option for MIME cannot be configured and defaults to wrapping the body of a message after 72 characters.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.0. This problem has been corrected in the latest U.S. Service Pack for Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.0.
