SYMPTOMS

If you import messages from a cc:Mail postoffice into Microsoft Outlook 97, you may receive the following error message:

WMS Idle: CWIMPORT.EXE - Application Error The instruction at "0x00404f4df" referenced memory at "0x00000004". The Memory could not be "read".

Click on Ok to terminate the application Click on CANCEL to debug the application [ok] [Cancel]


WORKAROUND

This problem occurs when you attempt to import messages that have a body which appears as <no title>. To work around this problem try moving these messages in cc:Mail to a folder that you will not import. Then, import the other messages.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.

This problem was corrected in Microsoft Office 97 Service Release 2 (SR-2).
