This article describes how to change the default file location in Microsoft FrontPage Express. FrontPage Express is a Web authoring and publishing add-on component for Internet Explorer.

When you open or save a file in FrontPage Express, the default file location is set to <drive>:\Program Files\Microsoft FrontPage Express\Bin, where <drive> is the drive on which the Program Files folder is located. To change the default file location in FrontPage Express, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click Start, and then click Explore.
  2. Double-click the Programs folder, and then double-click the Internet Explorer folder.
  3. Right-click the FrontPage Express shortcut, click Properties, and then click the Shortcut tab.
  4. In the Start In box, type the following line for the new default file location, and then click OK

    <path>\<folder>

    where <path> and <folder> specify the new default folder for FrontPage Express files. For example, type: c:\my documents

NOTE: If you use a folder name that contains spaces or exceeds eight characters in length, enclose the path in quotation marks.
