SUMMARY

To access the 3DS2Soft converter from the Softimage 3D interface, complete the following:

On Windows NT

1. Open setenv.bat.
2. Add %SI_LOCATION%to PATH and %SI_LOCATION% to SI_CUSTOM_MODEL.
3. Start Softimage 3D and from the Get menu, choose 3DS2Soft. If you are unable to see your .3ds files in the tool’s browser, convert the file extension (.3ds) to lower case and try again.

On SGI

1. Edit the .softimage file with jot.
2. Add $SI_LOCATIONto PATH and $SI_LOCATION to SI_CUSTOM_MODEL.
3. Start Softimage 3D and from the Get menu, choose 3DS2Soft. If you are unable to see your .3ds files in the tool’s browser, convert the file extension (.3ds) to lower case and try again.
