===============================
PART 2: VIDEO CARD ISSUES
===============================

To run the Barney software, your computer’s screen resolution must be
set to 800 x 600, with 256 colors or higher. For most video cards, the
Barney software will automatically switch your computer to the correct
resolution setting. However, for some computers and video cards, you may
need to change this setting yourself.

1. From the Windows Start menu, click Settings, and then click Control
   Panel.

2. Double-click Display, and then click the Settings tab.

3. Under Desktop Area, drag the slider until the setting reads 800 by
   600 pixels.

4. Under Color Palette, select the setting for 256 colors.

If you are unable to change your settings manually, your video card
may not have enough video RAM to support this Barney software title.

Make sure you have the latest video drivers for your video card. You can
download the latest drivers from your video card manufacturer’s Web site
or bulletin board service (BBS). For more information, see the Microsoft
ActiMates Web site at http://www.microsoft.com/actimates/.

===========================================================
PART 3: USING THIS SOFTWARE WITH MICROSOFT ACTIMATES BARNEY
===========================================================

Microsoft ActiMates Barney and the ActiMates PC Pack Transmitter are
low-powered radio devices, much like an AM/FM radio or a cordless phone.
Radio interference may occasionally cause ActiMates Barney to stutter of
miss a word.

Close other programs while the Barney software is running. If you find that
ActiMates Barney stutters or misses words frequently, see the
troubleshooting tips in the Getting Started manual for the ActiMates PC
Pack.

=====================================================================
PART 4: "UNKNOWN ERROR" WHEN USING ACTIMATES BARNEY WITH THE SOFTWARE
=====================================================================

If you get an error message that says "Unknown Error," this could be caused
by an incompatible sound card or by a radio link error between ActiMates
Barney and the PC Pack Transmitter.

>> If you get this error, do the following:

1. Exit all other software programs. Does that solve the problem?

2. If you still get the Unknown Error message, quit the Fun on Imagination
   Island software title. Turn off your computer, then turn it back on, and
   try starting the Fun on Imagination Island software again. Does that
   solve the problem?

3. If you still get the Unknown Error message, your computer's sound card
   may be incompatible with the PC Pack Transmitter. To see a list of
   incompatible sound cards, see the Barney.hlp file on this CD-ROM.
