SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Project 98, if you enter work values for an assignment, the value of work may be rounded to an incorrect value.
For example, if you have a task with a duration of 15 hours (15h) and assign a resource to the task with units of 20 hours, the duration will remain 15h, the units will be 133%, and the value of work is rounded down to 19.95h.
CAUSE
This problem occurs when you enter work values for an assignment in the Task Information dialog box (click Task Information on the Project menu).
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, assign the resource to a task by using the Assign Resource dialog box rather than the Task Information dialog box. To do this, point to Resources on the Tools menu, and then click Assign Resources.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft Project listed above.
