SYMPTOMS
When you use the universal serial bus (USB) driver in Windows 95 OEM Service Release (OSR) 2.1, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:
- Hot-docking may not function intermittently.
- The timer-suspend function may not work properly on some computers.
- The Central Processing Unit (CPU) clock can not be stopped by power management software.
RESOLUTION
This issue is resolved by the following updated file for Windows 95 OSR 2.1, and later versions of this file:
UHCD.SYS version 4.03.1215 dated 08/13/97 39,872 bytes
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows 95 OEM Service Release 2.1. An update to address this problem is now available, but is not fully regression tested and should be applied only to computers experiencing this specific problem. Unless you are severely impacted by this specific problem, Microsoft does not recommend implementing this update at this time. Contact Microsoft Technical Support for additional information about the availability of this update.
This issue is resolved in Microsoft Windows 98.
