SUMMARY

This article describes how to obtain and use the Feedback Wizard reporting tool for Trip Planner 98. This tool allows you to easily submit map content feedback to the Microsoft Expedia Trip Planner team.

Microsoft developed the Feedback Wizard as an easy-to-use, structured way to send feedback about Expedia Trip Planner 98 maps. The wizard takes you through the steps of identifying a feature on the map, specifying the type of feedback, and sending comments. You can also use the Feedback Wizard to point out features that are missing on the map.

Disclaimer

The Feedback Wizard (“Wizard”) should be used by the end-user to submit feedback and suggestions to Microsoft for the Microsoft Expedia Streets 98 products (the “Products”). The terms of the End-User License Agreement (“EULA”) that accompanies the Products will continue in full force and effect with respect to the Products. Notwithstanding the foregoing sentence, the end-user understands and agrees that the Wizard is not subject to support or maintenance services, as referenced under Section 2 of the EULA. In no event shall Microsoft be obligated to provide the end- user with support or maintenance services for the Wizard in connection with the end-user’s participation in providing feedback to Microsoft for the Products.

The end-user understands and agrees that all feedback provided to Microsoft relating to the Products, including without limitation, personal comments, suggestions, and observations, shall become the property of Microsoft and may be used by Microsoft and/or its suppliers for any purpose whatsoever, without any further obligation to or permission by the end-user. In addition, although Microsoft appreciates the end-user’s feedback, it cannot guarantee that any received suggestion or feedback will be implemented. Additionally, the end-user understands and agrees that by providing Microsoft with feedback about the Products that Microsoft may extract certain technological information from the end-user’s feedback for analysis purposes (i.e., hardware configuration and operating system, etc.) and that said information will be subject to the terms of this section.

The end-user further understands and accepts the Wizard “as is,” and Microsoft is not offering a warranty to the end-user for use of the Wizard either expressed or implied.

Obtaining the Wizard

Installing the File

To install the Feedback Wizard, do the following:

  1. Download the file, Tp98fdwz.exe.
  2. Double-click the self-extracting file. This will start the installation of the files required to install the Feedback Wizard.

NOTE: The Feedback Wizard works only with the retail version of Microsoft Trip Planner 98. It will not work with any OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) version of Microsoft Expedia Trip Planner that may have come pre-installed when you purchased your computer. You should exit all Windows programs before running this Setup program.

Using the Wizard

To start using the Feedback Wizard, follow these instructions:

  1. Open Trip Planner 98.
  2. Click Help, and then click Feedback On The Map.

This starts the Feedback Wizard. Follow the instructions to complete the report.

To remove the Feedback Wizard, use the Add/Remove Programs icon found in the Windows Control Panel. The Feedback Wizard is listed as “Microsoft Expedia Trip Planner 98 Feedback Wizard” in the list of installed components. This removes only the Feedback Wizard and does not remove any of the files needed to run Expedia Trip Planner 98.

E-mail Issues

If you have Internet e-mail working with a 32-bit e-mail program that is compatible with the Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) (such as Microsoft Exchange or Outlook), do the following:

  1. On the last panel of the wizard, click E-mail Your Feedback, and then click Finish.

  2. If you are not sure your e-mail is MAPI compliant, do the following:

    1. On the last panel of the wizard, clear the check mark from the E-mail Your Feedback option, and then click Finish.

    2. When you are prompted, save the file.

    3. Mail the saved feedback as an attachment to:

    If you do not have e-mail, print your feedback and send the report to:
