SUMMARY

If you have installed Microsoft Office 97, Service Release 1 and you try to save a Microsoft Works Word Processor document in Word 6.0/95 format, you may receive the following error message:

There was a problem converting the document

After clicking OK, you will see:

Cannot save the document C:<filename>.doc. Choose the Save As command again and specify a different name or location for your document.

After clicking OK, the file is saved and you can open it in Word.

Converting a Works document to Word 6.0/95 may result in this error message. To correct this problem, download the Word Converter patch. The Word Converter patch will copy the appropriate converter into the correct location.
