PPT97: Best Scale for Slide Show Does Not Stay Selected

Article ID: 174133

Article Last Modified on 11/9/2000

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft PowerPoint 97 Standard Edition

This article was previously published under Q174133

SYMPTOMS

When you reopen the Format Picture dialog box, the "Best scale for slide show" option on the Size tab is not checked even though you previously selected this option and set the screen resolution for your slide show. Although this option is no longer checked, the information regarding your picture is correct.

To open the Format Picture dialog box, select a picture and then click Picture on the Format menu.

CAUSE

PowerPoint cannot recalculate the proper screen settings of the picture after you modify it. Therefore, PowerPoint cannot determine the best scale for the slide show and automatically clears the "Best scale for slide show" option when you reopen the Format Picture dialog box.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
