SUMMARY
Microsoft SideWinder Profile Activator and Microsoft SideWinder Profile Editor both display available gaming devices if the devices are physically plugged in to the game port, or if you selected the devices during Setup.

To add a device to Microsoft SideWinder Profile Activator and Microsoft SideWinder Profile Editor, you must physically connect the device to the game port (or daisy chain from a game pad), or select the device during Setup.
If a device is not plugged in to the game port or the device plugged in is not recognized, Setup prompts you to select which device you are using.
You can choose among the following four gaming devices:
- Microsoft SideWinder 3D Pro
- Microsoft SideWinder game pad
- Microsoft SideWinder Force Feedback Pro
- Microsoft SideWinder Precision Pro
Selecting one of these devices during Setup adds the device to Microsoft SideWinder Profile Activator and Microsoft SideWinder Profile Editor. If a device is plugged in to the game port and it is recognized, Setup does not prompt you to select from the list of four gaming devices.
If the game device software is loaded and active (you can check this by checking the taskbar), you can plug a game device in to the game port and the game device software will add the device to both Microsoft SideWinder Profile Editor and Microsoft SideWinder Profile Activator.
