SYMPTOMS

When you enter a formula in a worksheet, some of the values that are returned by the formula may be incorrect.

CAUSE

This problem may occur when the following conditions are true:

  • You enter the formula as an array formula (press CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER). -and-


  • The formula refers to one or more merged cells.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Excel 97.
