SUMMARY

There are two types of coordinate systems that exist in expressions: global and local.

  • Global is the Softimage global coordinate system that has the following values:

    Translation = 0 for x,y,z Rotation = 0 for x,y,z Scaling = 1 for x,y,z

  • Local is the coordinate system of the parent object. If you do not have a parent, the expression behaves like a global expression. If you do have a parent, the expression uses the center of the parent as the coordinate system.

The local coordinate is not defined by the center of the object, in fact, the local coordinate system is define by the transformation of the parent object.
