SYMPTOMS
SOFTIMAGE Particle cannot see a networked database.
CAUSE
DatabaseDir.rsrc uses UNC names for the paths to the Databases. If there is a space in the Networked Share name, Particle will not see the Databases.
RESOLUTION
Either change the UNC name to the actual drive letter being mapped, or rename the share on the server so it does not have spaces.
For example:
\SERVERDrive is mapped to drive G:
the DatabaseDir.rsrc has the following entry:
DATABASE Database PATH //server/D Drive/Database
change the path to: PATH G:/Database
-OR-
Rename the D Drive share and remove the space.
STATUS
This behavior is by design.
